I'm sure many of you haven't met my Gypsy Vanner, Cozmiah! She's my dreadlocked gypsy with a tree branch growing out of her head, lanterns, bells in her locks, and rare weaves on her butt XD.

She's so fun to roleplay with. *whirl-wind and I are RPing Coz and Aamir together. Originally Aamir was going to have a place in this image, but Coz is such a big girl, she takes up most of the image!

So, let me explain this image a bit.
A lot of you suggested that I work on using less color. This was my attempt. She's probably the least colorful character I have, and she's still got some color! haha. A lot of you also said to work on my backgrounds. I guess I got some grass texturing, but as far as the rest of it goes, I'm somewhat disappointed. Ah well!
Also, I did not use a ref pic, which probably explains the shoddy anatomy. I want to get used to painting directly from my head. Relying on refs all the time is becoming a limiting process x_x.

I spent about a week working on this. I feel like that payed off on miss gypsy dread locks here :)

Oh and the lantern is lit by fireflies! :D Cool huh? They just... feed off of her happiness, hehe.

That background is better then I could do...I think it's very pretty! :heart: I love the swirly clouds.

And Cozmiah is a very neat character! I like how her lantern is lit by fireflies and the tree branch on her head is a nice touch! :aww: I like her name too.

Thanks! I wanted to give her something other than the typical unicorn horn, so a branch came to mind :). It took me FOREVER to come up with her name! :faint: Glad you like :D

I like the lighting a lot. She really sticks out from the light grey skies. The background is so calm and unassuming, I really like it (plus swwwwwirly clouds are love).

I am pretty much in love with the cloth on her back, the way it is folded and such looks great.

Drawing without references can kill me when I draw sometimes, I can only handle certain poses and headshots without having a proper ref. So you handled yourself pretty well for not having one, I know drawing a horse from a rear view is pretty difficult.

Ah, I was hoping you'd comment on this one! She's my only equine character with a thick/bigger build, and I know how much you love shires X3.

Drawing without a ref was definitely scary. Just about every image in my gallery was based off of some ref pic, or someone's line art. It was a challenge. And it makes me respect those artists that don't need them a LOT more! I noticed in quite a few of your pieces, you didn't use refs. And... well... you're my god so, :p had to give it a shot lol.
